What should do at the four stages of sales funnel?
Why Sales Funnel?
Sales Funnels empower the management to monitor existing as well as growing the future sales of the company which no doubt are the key to success.
What is Sales Funnel?
1- Become Aware
At this stage customers become aware of your products or services, they know it through words of mouth and traditional advertising on print (e.g newspaper) or electronic media ( e.g tv commercial), billboards etc. Now in the digital age customers mostly search the internet for their buying, they become aware of your products or services through Google search, website visit, blogs and social media ads. How and why the move down the funnel is dependent upon your marketing strategies at this stage. At this stage you need to grab the attention of the customers. Focus on their needs. For example, tell them that you are concerned about healthy and shiny hairs rather than selling the best shampoo in the world.2-Get Interested
At this stage the prospect becomes interested in your products or services. They ask about the solutions for their problems, tell them how your products or services can help them to solve their problems. The prospect also make a comparison of your offers with your competitors.
Don't try to push him towards making sales. But help him to make a good decision. Discuss about his problems, he wants your products to solve. Behave like a consultant, not a salesperson. Show your expertise and eagerness to solve the problems of your prospect. Your target is to win the trust of your prospect.
3- Make Decision
This is the stage where a prospect has two or three options in his mind and he has to decide for one, hopefully for your products or services. Here you need to convince the prospect to choose your products or services. Use your most energy at this level to make sales. This is the right stage to show your competitiveness. Discuss about the quality of your products or services, the competitive discount offers, bonus or free products, free delivery charges etc.
4- Taking Action
This is the very bottom level of your sales funnel. The prospect here takes action to make a purchase or not. If he made a purchase, all is not done here. Serve your customer professionally to repeat orders in future as well as use him as reference to multiple sales.
Even if he doesn't make any purchase, the deal is not over. Remain in contact with your prospects and nurturing them with your upcoming offers and campaigns.
The business and sales model may vary for each company but the sales funnel stages remain the same for each business. At the first stage of funnel the prospects are more than any other stage and gradually decrease as they go through the funnel at bottom level at the action stage.
Your focus must be on customer retention. Make yourself available to your customers for technical support, customer support and feed back.
